JDill finally posted on fb that they'll be having a celebration of life for Nate in February 2023. As much as I would love to be home to attend, my near future plans for life are up in the air. I'm not sure where I'll be in a few months - but I'll see what I can do. I at least hope that there is somewhere I will be able to go and visit and talk to him when I'm back in the future.
I just arrived to O'ahu today for about 12 days to spend time with family and friends, especially those I haven't seen in a few years because of the pandemic. My other main reason for coming home was to dig through old photos and letters. While I've tried hard to not be so sentimentally attached to objects, sometimes I am grateful to be able to revisit my past and remember things I had buried in my brain and forgotten about.
As I mentioned before, we weren't together for very long, and we had very few photos of us together - but I did manage to locate a few.
Taken sometime in Fall of 1998 at Ala Moana/Magic Island
Sometime in Fall 1998, at his house. I forgot that these pictures had existed.
We were cute.
There's one more photo I have of us, but the print I had was destroyed (a long story for another day). I was happy to have found the series of negatives for that pic, though, so I'll have to get it reprinted and those negatives scanned so that I have them to look back on.
I also found the original handwritten note I had previously posted - I knew that even after all of this time, that I still had it somewhere. It didn't take me long to find it.
I'll hold on to these forever.
