Holy shit it's hot. It's gotta be over 35celcius and very humid.
That's right, Winnipeg gets hot as hell. We're North of North Dakota and we is steamin fukin hot.
It's been a really great spring/early summer so far, so I shouldn't complain. Moderate temps and no mosquitoes. Last couple days though, little blood suckers have been busy hatching and screwing too I'm sure.
We had the family over for dinner tonight. It was really nice. Lot's to eat. Hear that Sillie? :)
Apertifs: 4 expensive and delicious cheeses with a variety of crackers, 2 shrimp rings and tangy seafood sauce, blue corn taco chips and chunky organic salsa, homemade onion/mushroon and tuna turnovers (two seperate kinds that is), chinese nori peanuts with seaweed snacks.
main dish: veggie lasagne rolls, iceburg lettuce salad, romaine salad w/oilvin dress, cold rapinee (like spinich but gooder), galic bread
after: freezies, fruit plate (three types of melon and strawberries) with a homemade strawberry dip.
And of course beer/sherry/wine/rabina/V8 and the apertifs kept re-appearing throughout the night.
And we were mostly ready before anyone showed, so we got to visit lots
.
We set up the basement so it was cool. People looked like they were going to kiss me when they realized we were hanging out downstairs. I think God was thanked once, though it was entirely my idea.
It's so fucking hot. whine whine. It's ok though. Biking in this shit is fun. The ride has to be planned around water refills. Gotta have an oversized bottle. There's something about losing a litre through the skin every hour that really makes you feel like it's a work out.
Monday is Canadas' 135th birthday so I'm going on a 9hour canoe trip. With beer to toast our grand old country. The greatest country in the world natch.
