It is said Manuel Legris is going to come and dance Carmen with Zhu Yan in Beijing this May according to his website. What am I gonna do? Last year when POB came I was struggling and at last decided to travel to Shanghai to see his Giselle. But he injured himself in Beijing during the first day rehearsal.Oh my god, I was dying to see him in Giselle then, and I thought I would never have a chance to see him live again. But Heaven just provide me another chance so soon.
I once said to myself if there were two persons whom I wanted to see live the most of all, they'd be Anthony Warlow and Manuel Legris--one is my most beloved singer and the other is my favourite ballet star.
Well, this time I'm a bit reluctant. I don't know if I'm still so eager to go on my journey to Beijing. Maybe it's just I'm not in favor of Roland Petit's work so much, and this time it's not the POB tour. And it's all so untrue for me...well...I fear that he will be injured again. God knows, ummm... it's still too early to decide, and I have to wait for my NPPE result and see what's left for me.
Anyhow, a singer like Anthony still has a long way ahead, but it's much shorter for a ballet dancer at that age and Legris is said to retire in about two years. This indeed must be the last chance for me.
