MPRE Review, visiting and fic-pimp and traffic, oh my~!
So, I woke up this morning at like, 6:30am because I had to go to the MPRE Review which as at 9am in LA. I don't make any assumptions that the traffic into LA will be any good, even on a Saturday morning. And, no, I guess I didn't REALLY have to go to the review, but it came free will my other BarBri course, and I could get a (sorta) free MPRE reviewbook. That will be helpful in my studying, since the MPRE is next Friday.
Also, I just wanted to get out of the house. =___=;; I'm remembering how tiring it is to live with my parents, especially since I've essentially lived alone for the last two years. Blaaaaargh. I really need a job.
The drive into LA wasn't so bad until I got into LA proper. Ahahaha... what idiot decided to do construction on the 405 South? And why did you block off Ventura Blvd.? The traffic was madness. I got to the BarBri office without too much hassle, even with the fact that I missed the office the first time and had to turn around. There was also precious little parking, but I parked in front of the little Japanese food cafe, and just went out every break to make sure my car didn't get towed. Though, I didn't have too many worries about that, since everyon who COULD manage to get a parking space in the lot DID.
The review was bleh. Professional Responsibility is mostly memorization anyway, and common sense, and reading the questions carefully for the difference between "may" and "shall". *headdesk* Still, I have my book, and I learned/remembered quite a bit from the PR course I took in law school, so it's not a total wash.
Also, since I was in LA (and after I ate lunch at the Japanese food place -- unhappiness, my chicken katsu was overdone), I trekked on over to visit _faolan_ at her scruffy boyfriend's place. The drive was a bit nerverwracking for me, and a LOT traffic going on the 405 North, but I didn't get lost! So yay for me.
Me and K-chan just hung out and I finally met her scruffy boyfriend. It was fun to talk and gossip and catch up. We had a good discussion on mad cow disease (cows eating other cows, ya know), and the Bar, and current life, and the best part... HARRY POTTER. I loved being geeky and sharing theories and reations and all that good stuff face-to-face instead of just over the internet. ^________^
I also pimped out copperbadge's fic Cartographer's Craft to K-chan, as well as Stealing Harry. They can all be found at sam_storyteller and are HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED. Cartographer's Craft is an HBP-compliant take on what happens after HBP, and it's marvelous and chapters come out nearly everyday. It's moving to be Harry/Sirius (all explained! it's not what you think!), and there's some Remus/Tonks, and Ron/Hermione as well. And of course, Stealing Harry is probably the BEST Remus/Sirius fic EVER. I was happy to see an update of the sequel, Laocoon's Children.

And thus my visit with K-chan ended (and I took a half a bottle of Coke with me to drink). I drove back home, which was sheer and utter MADNESS. I hate traffic SO MUCH. It took forever to get home, and I got sorta lost and missed an exit. ^^;;;
Then I got home, found my parents were gone, and had a nap. Woke up a bit ago though. I like naps. If my mom wakes me up for church in the morning, I might slaughter her though.
Now I think I shall read Cartographer's Craft again. Or maybe To See the Human Soul Take Wing. XD;; Maybe I should just save the fics since I read them so much.
