Dear fic,
I am devastatingly unhappy with you. You started out okay, and then you got twisted and turned until you weren’t even a fic anymore, but a disasterous monster. I am vastly, vastly unhappy with you. I even failed to make my point known. The characters got all bent out of shape. And it’s all your fault.
And mine. But let’s gloss over that part.
I think I figured out why I like Serra/Erk . . . and it’s not only that she’s cheerful and cute to his grumpy and dark. I think it’s because they’re pink and purple. Those are my two favorite colors. So they’re just aesthetically pleasing to me . . . huh. That’d explain why I like Jaffar/Nino-black and green-but then why do I like Hector/Florina?
And in recognition of my new OTP, a meme I saw somewhere that I had to recreate horribly from memory. . .
Former OTP: Serra/Erk
New OTP: Hector/Florina
Former Crack! OTP: Matthew/Jaffar
New Crack! OTP: Legault/Nino
Pairing you’ve been curious about but never wrote: Matthew/Jaffar
Pairing you abhor: Anything with Priscilla D:
Pairing you abhor to write: Eliwood/Ninian, Wil/Rebecca (I’m expecting)
Pairing you used to abhor but now you like: Pent/Louise
Pairing you used to like but now abhor: Sain/Priscilla
Fluff! love is given to: Hector/Florina
Angst! love is given to: Matthew/Leila
Former favorite character to write: Wil (he’s so wacky)
New favorite character to write: Hector (though I still like to write Wil)
Former least favorite character to write: Priscilla
New least favorite character to write: Priscilla (just not a lot of Priscilla love here . . . ) and Eliwood, correctly. FanonEliwood is so much more fun to write. CanonEliwood is noble and strong, and yes, slightly morose. FanonEliwood is gentle and unassuming, still noble, but somehow always getting the bunt end of the stick when he’s with Hector. And he’s always with Hector.
Pairing that everybody else likes but you don’t get: Matthew/Guy
Crack!pairing that everybody else likes but you don’t get: . . . Er . . .
Former OT3: . . . eh . . .
New OT3: . . . .eh . . .
Your fandom is awesome because: Everybody goes together.
Your fandom lacks: freedom of past and future. Harry Potter fanfics get to go to Marauders time or future time and write dark!fics real easy. Dark!fics here are mostly repetition of the events that already happened, which is bor-ring.
Rath studied Wil.
“I do not understand,” he said.
“Understand what?” Wil said, laughing nervously. He swung from the tree, rope taut around his ankle and waist.
“How you are still alive.”
--
“Baby’s crying,” Pent grunted. “Is it your turn?” The baby wailed in the background.
“Mmm . . . “ Louise pulled the pillow over her head. “Yes . . . “
“Mommy, Daddy!” a choking voice said, “I had a n-nightmaaare!”
“Baby’s growing fast,” Pent groaned, feeling the weight of a child scramble over him.
“We have two, dear.”
“Already?”
--
“Pent, come out from your library,” Louise said. She knocked at the door. “You haven’t even eaten dinner.”
“I’ll be out soon, dear,” he said. He licked his finger and turned the page.
“You’ve been in here all day,” Louise said in despair. “Do you even know how many children you have?”
“Of course I do,” he said, turning the page again. “Twoish.”
--
“Wh-what are you doing?” Erk jerked his head away. “Are you petting me?”
“I was combing your hair,” Louise said, pouting. “But I’ll pet you, if you want.”
“Wait-no-gah!“
--
“But why do you love Lord Pent? Didn’t he just choose you?” Rebecca begged, hanging onto the edge of the bed.
“I’ve always loved him,” Louise said simply.
“But why?”
“His hair.” Louise sighed romantically, and put down her sewing. “He has the most beautiful hair . . . “
“. . . What?”

Florina once begged Farina to make amends with Fiora.
“Can you put a price on family?” Florina asked desperately.
Farina made careful calculations. The price was exactly 20,000 gold, the remainder of Fiora’s loan for Farina’s mistake.
--
Florina once begged Fiora to make amends with Farina.
“There’s a steep price for pride,” Florina sadly warned.
Fiora knew the exact price. It was eleven, the number of her companions who fell on Dread Isle.

Eliwood liked to battle with Hector by his side. After all, Hector was his best friend since childhood. They would watch each other’s backs. Eliwood trusted Hector with all his heart, and would never leave his side. He believed in Hector.
Lyn liked to battle with Hector by her side. After all, Hector made a very good meat shield.

Rebecca first met the boy next door when he accidentally shot a toy arrow over the fence, through the tree, through her window, and hit her shoulder and fell with a thud.
Wil had been out of his mind, constantly asking if she was all right and asking Dan if she was all right, as if she couldn’t tell. But Wil had seemed glad to meet them both, admitting that he just couldn’t find a way to gather the courage to meet them. Rebecca had always thought it had been a lucky accident, until she tried the shot herself.
Then she realized, with a warm, blushing sensation, it couldn’t have been an accident.

Erk loved Lord Pent and Louise like they were family. But sometimes, he still didn’t quite understand them. Like when Lord Pent first brought him to the castle.
“Is it a girl?” Louise guessed.
Lord Pent had looked down inquisitively, and said, “I’m not quite sure.”
