SERIOUSLY?!?

I know i promised an icon post (i'm working on it! promise!), but i just had to vent all of this SOMEWHERE.

It all started a week ago with Ebay. .and my dad. I KNOW! Don't ever let your parents use your stuff. But dad was harmless. Or so i thought, anyway.

So my dad's been looking for an old land rover for quite a while now, and has finally decided to broaden his horizons and start looking online. So he decided to start small and use Ebay. I've been on it for years now and never had any problems with it, so i assumed he'd be safe and let him even use my account to search with, maybe a save a couple on my watchlist etc.

I. AM. AN. IDIOT. PERIOD.

My dad finds and bids on this fairly decent land rover and wins. Ok. So then he goes to see it with mum. Taking six hrs to get there and back in my mum's little grey car and my mum's over-chatty friend Wendy, who just had to tag along. She was bored.

So apparently the guy lied through his teeth about the condition of the land rover and the pictures were from before he'd ripped out something called a snorkel for offroad driving and left a tonn of wires hanging out of the dashboard.

This doesn't cover the fact that he didn't tell my dad the bottom of it had been welded over and over to cover a mountain of holes and probably couldn't be repaired again if another came through. Meaning it would have to be replaced etc. There was also several other bits and pieces he hadn't mentioned, so dad came home after refusing to buy it.

Something i didn't mention before this was that Ebay ramped my dad's actual bid up by ANOTHER £250! IKR?!

We thought it was done with, but the guy was refusing to sort everything online, and it still looks like we need to pay after a week. This is on top of the guy refusing to do ANYTHING till we pay his relisting fee of £15!

RAT B*&$%£!*&

I contacted Ebay over the phone (which i will add was an 08 number on my mobile phone. this has cost me a bomb on this months bill!), and they basically told me at first that they would have it sorted by monday THIS WK, only to turn around when i called AGAIN and say that they were investigating it and couldn't take sides of either users or some cr@p like that and proceeded to make me fill in a tonn of online forms claiming what the guy was demanding etc.

They got at me so bad on the phone that i was in tears, i was that frustrated and hung up. TWICE! So the same guy rings back again and again and proceeds to repeat himself, thus more tears and finally my anger and shouting at him, saying that Ebay obviously didn't care about loyal customers AT ALL and that it seemed to me he was only concerned about me not mentioning his name in my online complaint so he wouldn't get into trouble.

I'm sorry to any of you guys who've just sat through all that, but i seriously needed to vent about how badly things online are becoming this last year or so, that you can't even rely on a site you've been a member of for over 7 YEARS!

Talking to my mum and a bunch of the cousins online last night, and my cousin Wayne says that this whole cencorship thing is going to seriously blow up in people's faces. Which i actually kind of agree with, when i think it over.

All these governments etc are agreeing and implimenting everything, but are they seriously thinking of themselves personally, as people online as well?

From what Wayne was saying, he recons a lot of governments officials and workers are going to regret it after a good year or so of it being in play, as they probably all do stuff online in private, such as porn and online videos, twitter or other sites etc, as well as their families, friends and maybe even their children too.

I honestly think cencorship won't work and will probably go down the drain with in a year or two, or at the very least there's going to be such a big uprising about it, that people are genuinely going to find ways around it in the end, making it all useless, you know?

What do you guys think? I honestly want to know!
