Since we've been dabbling and talking about AUs and future AUs busily, I thought that maybe a post with information about the 'verses for Dean might be useful to the dear reader. Except for some cases in the 'times off' one, Sam is
winchesterbitch.
(For SWS / JSI posts, if the entry is 'verse specific, it'll likely be mentioned in the 'location' field.)
Obviously, there's canon Dean. This is Dean with no (as far as I know, since things get revealed on this show!!!) deviations from what has been aired. Extending him a bit, explaining, figuring out, but no changing. There may be assumptions for him and I do try to keep in my mind separately what is an assumption, what is a conclusion, and what has been revealed explicitly on the show.
Vegas, baby! This is the most explored current AU. Cassie (
notpenelope) and Sarah (
wasartstudent) got in touch, and then slowly ended up starting hunting on their own. And
came across the boys in Vegas, shortly after the events of Heaven and Hell. (Yes, the posts dates don't quite match, but it makes way more sense that way.) Canon gets integrated in this 'verse by means of mostly the girls being on cases of their own while the events of episodes unfold.
There are also future bits about this 'verse that are being developed.
Generally, this is the current 'verse where the boys are the steadiest, sanest.
(Also, we might complicate things here, if
mini_dean's and
notpenelope's muns so wish, by adding that revelation about fatherhood here as well. Or below in the Fallen Angel 'verse. Or an entirely different 'verse. Or not at all. ;) )
Unless otherwise stated, interactions with Pippa, Jo, Ellen, likely Bobby, canon!Pam, etc. fall into this 'verse.
Lawns and carpets is the 'verse that the one above evolves into shortly after the end of the war. (If the boys don't survive the war canonly, we'll see how we'll write that over.) Why the name? Because in the epic log after Sex and Violence, it became apparent that vacuuming a carpet has to Sam a significance of 'normal, home' similar to that that mowing the lawn has for Dean. Again, Cassie and Sarah; as well as John Martin and Amelia (possibly Johanna) - Dean and Cassie's, and Robert (Noor or Daniel, TBD) - Sam and Sarah's. Formerly known as 'happily ever after', but that is such a misnomer where Winchesters are involved that, well. The new name is more appropriate.
Fallen angel is the 'verse where interactions with Pam whose eyes have been healed by Castiel happen. And with Castiel who's done that. Most probably, the work on the case of Madison's (
oncehunted) return to life is in this 'verse, as well as whatever else comes along their way afterwards. We still need to determine how long that case actually takes, since that's happening in really skivvy time and partly depends on what Madison will decide on doing after, but it's possible that the boys may skip past some of the cases or fall into an entirely different storytelling thread in this 'verse. Lots of things TBD.
Dangerous weapons. Now this is a 'verse where nothing actually has been written yet, but the likelihood that there will be is very high. It is based on
canons from the Arcana, and specifically on Sam going full-blown
Sorcerer and finishing breaking Dean into a
Blade that he can wield. Possibly breaking Ruby (
willkill4chips) into a Blade as well. I can write about the whys and hows for a while, but the gist of it is this: It would be a very dark 'verse. Anybody dealing with the boys will be risking his or her own sanity and life. However, the amount of power, of clout that they will have at their disposal this way will be much, much greater. (And the responsibility for it, very limited.) One word to bind them describe this 'verse would be mindfuckery. Be warned.
Note: It's highly possible that items posted with the tag 'verse: any' will not apply to this 'verse.
Times off is the 'verse where anything goes. Almost metalandia, though not quite - Dean's not as loosened up or as informed as he's in metalandia. But interactions with other versions of Sam (e.g.,
likely_evil,
notantichrist, and occasionally
lost_myshoe, etc.) will fall into the labeling of this 'verse. I do try to keep them separate and concise in my head, the interactions; if I mix something up, feel free to point it out to me. Obviously, interactions with
reporter_chloe and
horsewoman_lana fall into this 'verse too.
Oh yeah. Apparently, a pranks war with
notantichrist is pending in this 'verse. Watch out for loose itching dust or superglue...
Am I missing something? Questions, requests about the above? Nudge me.
