After

Dean and Cassie didn't even need to discuss this bit, leaving Sam and Sarah to reassure each other a bit, cuddled together in one of the cars, and cleaned up after the case on their own. Talked with the kids, although that didn't necessarily do that much good. Dean hoped that none of their names had been caught and the police wouldn't be after them over the boy's death, but they just wouldn't be staying around long enough to be questioned.
They got to the hotel and flopped on beds and chairs, however it came. Dean took a moment to focus, but after a bit he looked around, and, honestly, they didn't look too good. And he knew why they weren't in top shape, and... he wished he could do more about it. More than just stick around and fight to keep... as much above the water as he could.
Shaking his head, he moved to change into another t-shirt, and the one he pulled of was one of Jo's gifts, and it made him smile. And - well.
"Hey guys. Um... how about we take a bit of a break?" It didn't take all that much to get their attention. At Sam's slight questioning frown, Dean gave a small shrug. "Jo suggested we go visit one of these days, we might consider obliging?" This was, after all, as close to a normal thing as they could provide themselves with right now (and no, Sam's words weren't forgotten and he sure wanted to ... do something about it.)
Just in case they hadn't both fully explained memorably who Jo was, Dean added for the benefit of Cassie and Sarah, "Jo Harvelle, Ellen's daughter, and Ellen is where we were at for Christmas. And Jo's in college."
No, he wasn't telling them to leave immediately... but it was an idea, heading that way, right?
