Right. Well the first piece of bad news I gave to my Dad? It was that, now don't laugh, Sonny and Cher broke up.
Well it wasn't the first time I gave him bad news. Technically. But it was the first time I gave him bad news. Or maybe, the earliest news that I told him that was bad news. It's all screwed up trying to explain it, really, all 'cause of a freak of an angel who decided to play mess with time and stuff. And it was all in vain anyway. Both for what he wanted me to do and for what I thought I'd be able to do--
Anyhoo. So it's not such a big deal, right? I mean, Sonny and Cher breaking up. But you should've seen the man's face, and I didn't even know he was my dad yet either. He was kinda crushed. Couldn't really not feel sorry for him, kinda... sympathetic. And it was news to him. Man. In two thousand and eight? No way.
His reaction was what kinda tipped me off about things not being quite right too. 'cause, dude. Sonny and Cher! Aaand he wasn't really my dad yet or something. Except that he was, 'cause I was also there...
Yeah. Screwed up, trying to talk about it, but nothing like the shocker it actually was when it happened. 'course. That was like. The first of many over the next coupla days. But still, dude. Disillusioning your own dad like that? So wrong.
