I Rather Read Your Lips

"Why don't you teach your heart to feel, I give you love love."

I can't get the theme song "Love Love" of X-Men: First Class out of my head. And their dance moves too! Take That, wtf?
The reason of Matthew Vaughn, the director, to pick this song to summarize the relationship of the main characters is crystally clear, though.

After watching the deleted scenes, I have noticed that Charles Xavier (played by James McAvoy) attempts to seduce Moira MacTargert (played by Rose Bynse)
right after his awkward and UST charged "Where are you going?" conversation with Erik Lehnsherr (played by Michael Fassbender) in the corridor.

The following is reblogged from mollie-wobbles @ tumblr, which is a satisfyiong explanation to the significant of this scene:

The deleted scenes have further proved to me that James played Charles as a closeted homosexual

First of all, James is an amazing actor (obviously) because he acts all the way to his toes.
I remember in the “Atonement” behind the scenes interviews, someone talked about how he carries himself differently when he’s a gardener and when he’s a soldier, which I totally agree with. He’s very careful with how he holds himself.
So when I see him sitting like this:

I do not think he is a heterosexual guy trying to get into the hot lady’s pants.
I think he is a flaming homosexual who just passed his lust object in the hallway and can’t get the image of a sweaty Erik in PT gear stripping for the shower out of his head, so he is trying to prove his own masculinity -- he seemed more desperate than impatient when he said “I’d rather read your lips” -- by flirting hopelessly with a woman who clearly knows he is gay because she has eyes and sends him images of his own gayness to turn him off.
(I legit think she was sending him some nasty Erik-porn when she made his eyes cross. Nothing gets anyone him more flustered than an Erik!boner)

I feel like to point out that aside from the cross-legging, James also portrayed Xavier with a feminine hand gesture, which is a tribute to the original comics, whenever his character is using his telepathy ability.

Moreover, after the failure to seduce the woman, Charles went to persuade Erik to stay with him, like he just realized who his heart belongs to.
When Erik came back to him, Charles immediately turned down CIA's offer (despite he had just agree on) and claimed that he was with Erik..

About Charles Xavier representing a closeted homosexual, assitant professor William Earnest described him as "affimatively chooses to stay in the closet and not frighten the straights" in an article on E!Online.

Sorry for my rambling on some out-dated stuff. I have it on my mind for a few days and I need to say it out loud now.
Also, if you have not seen them all yet, this is the list of all the behind-the-scene features in the Bluray DVD.
