I suppose I should write something about it.
Well... about the second week of July, I was pretty much made head of programming last-minute. Nick had burnout and stepped down, and Caro's father had passed away, pretty much leaving me in charge of the whole thing.
Spent 12 hours staring at the schedule that Monday, moving things around, reading and sending e-mails, making sure we got panel descriptions for everyone.
The con meeting that week was a bit of a headache because after I had a full schedule, I still had to move things around and accommodate changes I was not aware of (like the staff didn't want anything going up against art auction or masquerade). But we still got the schedule out on time.
The con ITSELF went very smoothly. Had a few last-minute cancellations, but under circumstances that were out of anyone's control. I really have to hand it to Ops for making things run so well. I honestly didn't have to worry about anything and could enjoy the con.
If I am made head of programming next year (which I'm sure will happen because I'm stupid like that), I already have plans for overhauling the schedule and panel submission system.
And even though we still have the post-mortem, I'm already working on stuff for the next con. :P
