For centuries, there were only two parties to vote for in UK, the liberal party and the conservative. I have always voted liberal. Twenty years ago, when some breakaway Labour MPs joined us, we became the Liberal Democrats. (It wasn't a big leap for them; Labour views were always closer to Liberal, than the right wing) I stood for the council as a Liberal Democrat.
But now it looks like Clegg will align witht he Tories. Foolish man. For twenty years, Lib Dems have hoped for electoral reform which brings the party proportional representation - the one thiong that Cameron has said he will never concede; and this at a time when Clegg could really argue his case. Brown on the other hand has said he will consider this change, and Clegg is ignoring him...
Pity.
That would be a REAL change;
and if I was 'voting for change', that's the change I'd be voting for, today. But if my party is swallow (not aligned, make no mistake) in this way, I guess I won't vote again.
