You're the only one near me,
and you're holding me down.
Move on with your life,
lose that frown.
I know you're not sad,
I know you're not mad.
Quit with the act,
I'm not feeling back.
This mask you wear,
is fading away.
I'm seeing the truth,
more with each day.
I can tell as I look,
deep in your eyes.
You're trying to fool me,
but I'm not surprised.
Pretending to be,
someone you're not.
It's really a turn off,
not at all hot.
Just be yourself,
is the moral of this poem.
Don't hold yourself back,
quit feeling down.
Enjoy life's gifts,
cherish its treasures.
Do what you want,
You'll feel so much better.
