he blinds were wide open, flooding the thoroughly aired rooms with thick Caribbean air and warm sunshine. Hot tea was boiling in the kitchen, the china was ready, the thin covers on he beds were already shivering with need. Lord Beckett’s mansion was ready to receive its new master for the first time in a decade.
It had been a long, lonely wait and the walls were trembling in anticipation, as if knowing there would be more secrets to hide and louder cries to muffle than ever before.
