I also came from the writer's block page. I knew I'd end up replying to someone there. The more I find out about her, the sicker Palin makes me, and I knew someone's response to this question would make me sick as well. Lucky you.

Let's go point-by-point:

1. She's not afraid to be one either. Whether it's firing a Walter Monhegan for not firing her ex-brother-in-law, or firing a librarian in Wasilla for not wanting to ban books, she's got the high abuse of power quotient that the Republican party finds oh-so desirable.

2. She has been governor of a state populated by "thirteen people and some caribou", as Cafferty would have it. While it's a flippant, dismissive charge, there's plenty of truth to it.

There's also plenty to the charge that Palin was a member of the Alaska Independent Party. Yes: a candidate for VP belonged to a party whose platform involved the secession of her state from the union.

Oh yeah, "she's a uniter", all right.

4. She is a huge proponent of "abstinence-only" sex education for purposes of preventing teen pregnancy and the spread of STD's. If she can't even get it right in her own home, she has no right to preach it to the rest of the country. Period. If she's so involved with running her sparsely-populated state that she can't take time to teach her children the lessons she wants them to learn, I don't want her telling me how to raise mine.

5. I wish you were kidding on this. It'd make it that much easier. If you don't see the problem of someone who doesn't understand the laws they solemnly swear to support and defend, you're just engaging in anti-lawyer knee-jerk responses. I'll bet you still laugh at the Lost Boys yelling "KILL THE LAWYER" in Hook.

6. I'm going to put this as plainly as I can: Palin doesn't even know what the vice president does. Would you hire someone for a job if they had no idea what it entailed? I sure wouldn't.

Oh, but then again, doing so could be described as a breath of fresh air. If you're a crazy person.

So, do us all a favor: vote independent. It's quite a switch from '00 and '04 when every vote for an independent was a vote for the Republican party. Now, every independent vote is a vote for Obama.

And we thank you for your support.

Your #4 SO hit the nail right on the head for me. Couldn't have put it better myself.

okidoke, So... you're okay with the government telling you how to raise your kids, so long as the elected official raises there own without any "problems"?

Fascinating.

That's not even close to the point that was made and you know it. Way to go.

perhaps I'm just overly sensitive to what I see as people expecting the government to both do things for them, and tell them how to live.. I key on the littlest thing. I know it wasn't the point you were making, but it's there nonetheless.
You don't want an elected official that can't keep their house in order telling you how to run your own house. Glass house analogy.
While I do agree with that, I dislike the idea of laws dictating how I raise my child and/or how I conduct myself in the privacy of my own home. Frankly, I'd be surprised if you didn't agree with me on at least that much.
But then you see ballots with measures intended to "babysit" the populace legislatively and it just raises my eyebrows and keeps me going to the polls.
So, perhaps I'm a bit sensitive... but I'd hazard an opinion everyone who has commented on any of these posts to this question are sensitive one way or the other.

That's right, you missed the point.

Of course I don't want anyone in power telling me how to raise my child... and being a new dad, it's more important to me than ever.

I don't expect elected officials to have a perfect family life, but I would like to see that the values they hold dear work for them within their own family.

Palin's exactly the type who will use her office as a pulpit to preach her brand of offensive, failed family values to the country at large, ignoring the fact that her values only reflect those of a relatively small section of the populace.

We've found ourselves at war with fundamentalist extremists. I don't think an administration that comes from the opposite extreme is the answer we need.

abuse of your children via the internet davinciclone October 15 2008, 14:24:51 UTC
you must know daniel sarhad is an internet troll/bully harassment artist who not only harasses other users via internet services but he also openly posts pictures of his child online while antagonizing other users... i would call this pure and simple child abuse and neglect.

of coarse he'll drink a gallon of the obama-aid. that figures he would rather see america turn socialist then retain it's once great place in the world.

if you look at his online past you'll see davinciclone is not too smart, and if he actually cared about his wife, child and family he would not be stirring up trouble and harassing people online and then posting pictures of them... is this making sense?

i think after he was fired by gannett (arizona republic) he would have learned not to do the things he's doing... he was fired from that publication as advertising director for using company computers to post slander and harassment on a website called portal of evil.

mr. sarhad is not too bright and hopefully maybe one day he'll see the light of day...

posting photos of your children and family online while harassing other internet users is very dangerous and utterly stupid on his part.

maybe that's part of the reason he attacks sarah palin and is drinking the obama-aid as we speak...

Say, wiltherran, I'm sorry about this. This was part of a private argument between me and someone else, and I apologize that it's spilled onto your journal. I'm pretty embarrassed by it.

This idiot follows me everywhere spouting half-truths and outright lies ever since I posted that I didn't like his band. Seven years ago. Seven years, and he's still following me around.

Anyway, he's using my real name in this post, and I'd appreciate it if you'd delete it. This is your journal, I can't make you do so (and I won't even try), but I'd really appreciate it.

mr. daniel sarhad has admitted to his 8 years of harassment containing anothers name, address etc.

poor boy you need to stay off line, get yourself a life and take care of that child... and no it does not mean post images of the poor thing. did the child give you permission to post the photos? oh, must be your property huh? dude, get a clue you fruitloop.

you are an abusive sob and you need to be called out for the abusive posting of the childs images and using the livejournal service to harass other users... i see why you're an 'obama' supporter now.

you need some serious help and you opened this can of beans now take your fork and eat plenty of the stfu and get off the computer coward.

you are daniel sarhad the davinciclone and proud barack hussein obama supporter and portal of evil troll squad member.

See what I mean?

The only time I ever mention this mess anymore is when you bring it up, friend.

Again, wiltherran, I apologize that my stalker has followed me here to harass me in your journal.
