Proper livejournal post for first time in ages
Oy oy…
Thought I’d brighten up livejournal by making a longish post about my recent travels.
At the end of July I went to Stoke Flemming in South Devon to see Durham friends. The views were amazing and it was nice to see lots of ppl again. The day after coming home I set off again to go to MickeyMouseLand in Paris. To all those who were sweltering here, bow before the the mighty temperatures of 40 and 41! It was all very cute, the best rides going to Pirates of the Carribean and the Aerosmith (yes, Aerosmith) rollercoaster. There was one strange bit however on the night parade where Mickey’s float stopped moving and he did a very bizarre dance on the spot to a piece of classical music. I also got a text all the way from Leicestershire whilst underground in a q for a Pinochio ride. The wonders of technology.
On Thursday I visited the Arc de Triomph, climbed the Eiffel Tower and respected Notre Dame cathedral. We also went into the Louvre just to see the Mona Lisa, then left again.
Will probably have to go back to Durham do to lack of job and the need for guests, prob 1st week of September, means I get a whole house all to myself.
Finally, I put an interesting picture of last years boating holiday on chunderyears. To those who recognise it, it speaks many ironic words. Notice what the bridge sign says in big letters. Did they notice it? Nope…
