This. album. Oh. my.
It's really great. Seriously. I can't say anything intelligent about it at the moment but I've been gushing over it since I bought it Tuesday. Despite the less than stellar single (Okay, face it, "Get on Your Boots" kinda sucks and is the only one I routinely skip). But the rest is fab. I was really surprised that they had it on the shelf, because it seems like albums sell out quickly there on the first day of their release. But they had it--and on sale. So yes, if you love (old) U2, get this! It's very much a return to everything that made them a great band.
I've been bashing my head against a pile of looming work but I think I'm back on track. I've done the rough cut of my film, which involved plenty of time locked in a small room with other frantic film students. It's really not horrible, considering how many problems I had in shooting. I'm quite chuffed about one shot I did that I wasn't sure would turn out. And it did, fantastically. So that's likely a factor in my overall mood. Then again, we're starting on the next one next week so I've so very small a respite. Really, I would never want to direct anything. It has to be the most stressful job in the film world.
Oh! And I got an A+ on a paper I turned in about Schindler's List and its connection to film noir. I'm super surprised because she's argumentative with students and I just knew she'd find something to denigrate in my paper. So, pleasant surprise.
