Did anyone else see the new Masterpiece Theatre version of Wuthering Heights? While hardly true to the novel (so much is left out and some details downright changed), it works well enough not to be too annoying to diehard fans. I admit to being one--we had a "We Love Heathcliff" corner in our 12th grade English class. And I have to admit Tom Hardy might be the best Heathcliff yet, despite how much I love Olivier. Hardy has a very wild look, and is quite a bit gruffer than Olivier's version, making him more in line with what I envision reading the novel. Not to mention he's just, well, yum. He's enough for me to not mind how annoyingly unannoying Cathy is--she's supposed to be wretched! I will not stand for a pleasant Cathy.

If anyone wants to see it and didn't get a chance, they have it online here and will be up until 1 February.
