exams are a funny thing. the past two weeks have gone by both in a blur as well as excruciatingly slowly, and it's not immediately clear how this whole speed thing works. mechanical time, it seems, has decided to floor the accelerator and flash ahead, while the time in your brain is taking its time to stroll on, or perhaps it is trudging along wearily like your eyes on waugh.
speaking of woff, i've found
the mothership. on facebook, of all places!
but i digress. studying with the f_________ f___ has been mostly illuminating, but also highly unproductive, where unproductive = hours of pleasure and fun. this mainly involves Giza, that damned pyramid board game which tbh isn't actually all that entertaining, save the fact that everyone is always being biatches and ganging up on someone (mostly mark. OR ME, thanks much). also, as mark very aptly puts it, Swirl is one hell of a money blackhole - although i refrain from quoting "it pwns my wallet" and "shao"/"duo"/"qing"/whatever else he comes up with - and i must've spent, idk, at least 50 smackers at that place in the past two weeks. it's only a gelateria, dammit!
anyway, i might be helluva unprepared for the blocks, but siriusly? whatever, at least i've enjoyed the last holiday i can have in my 6 years of secondary education. i really have done quite a lot of things in this past month and it makes me feel kinda poignant, but also it makes me sincerely hope this is the last time i squander my holidays away. gogogo, A's! (that said, if i see another mention of expansionary monetary policy again... my interest rate would totally drop)
so, pictures.
there's been something of a plant renaissance in my house of late. seeds planted two, three months ago are sprouting like mad, and for the first time a pot of herbs under my care doesn't die within 24 hours of my laying eyes on it. what is this world coming to, my mum said the other day, could it be your brown fingers are finally disappearing!
spearmint - a stem cutting nicked from my neighbor that (i hope) has taken root by now
blue pea flower plant
another creeper that has been very adventitious and opportunistic. how its parent looked like i have forgotten, obviously.
kay i admit, this is a result of my dad's meddling. even i didn't know that could propagate by leaf cutting??
& other unrelated, ergo random pictures that has been lurking in my photobucket folder for ages now-
lemongrass blueberry granita - yeah okay so it does look like a pale purple breast, GET OVER IT DUDE!
i was lying on the floor next to the balcony reading about some whackjob postmodern psychosis theory (i get creative with my study positions when i'm bored), when i looked at the marble floor, and it was reflecting the sunlight in a strange iridiscent hue-

uhm, someone care to explain this to me?? i know it's refraction and everything but why only the glare, i was trying to figure this out for like two hours :S
10.30am - sometimes the haze can be beautiful, too :)
also, can somebody tell me why i am not revising the sonnets now! D:
