Recently, I was approached by some members of a Norwegian Willy and Alien fansite that claimed to have new(ish) original artwork from Alien artist D.S. They offered it to me, sight unseen for the handsome some of $37.43. Back in my salad says, I would have thought nothing of the cost.
But as times are tough, I was a little hesitant. But thankfully, President Obama has promised to pay my mortgage, so I finally agreed to their hefty price and bought the item. I got it, and was immediately taken aback. Clearly, D.S. had fallen on hard times. Why I'm not sure, but the artwork was sub-par. The strokes of his usual sure hand were gone. This was a one off job, made custom for a fan of both Willy and Alien as well as some Milwaukee rapper named Coo Coo Cal. Maybe it was for Coo Coo Cal himself... I'm not sure.
In any case, I'm releved to archive yet another piece of the Willy and Alien saga safely in our archives. I truly hope that D.S. is doing well.
