Twelve Grapes at Midnight

Currently Reading: "The Myth of the Rational Market" - Justin Fox

My Egypt-inspired kick ended with a viewing of Kanye West's short film "Runaway". The man samples Aphex Twin and hires good people to form his aesthetic but on many occassions his lyrics are maximally skeezy and I am glad when he stops to autotune ballet sequences instead of discussing sending pictures of his genitals through his telephone. ANYWAY peaceful resistance won out in the Middle-East and I can finally go back to  listening to nothing but "Black Moth Super Rainbow" for weeks on end.

Valentine's day began the IBM Jeopardy challenge, which is now up fully on Youtube. Coincidentally two of the contestants were fighting on behalf of personal favorites VillageReach and WCG, I started supporting Ken Jennings because his wife was watching him play for the first time and the programmers didn't do a good job accounting for human-response time thresholds and failed to implement voice-recognition software or dramatic programmed monologues (as they really should have). The unstated human alliance became more interesting, and this led to a surprise ending.

The neural-modeled social network idea I had apparently has already happened primitively within FB, but to cheer me up came this news. Experimental Progress.
