Either that or perhaps _we_ really ARE elitist. I had the same conversation with elsinoreblue ... "folks are up in arms about the truth?"

Personally, I'm betting on some/most/all? of those folks voting the way that the pro-gun/anti-abortion/anti-immigration lobby tells them to. Sad, but true.

I guess that depends on what 'elitist' means in this context. To quote an old friend of mine, "If elitist means 'not the dumbest motherfucker in the room' sign me up". If your brand of elitism is people who live on the coast and drink lattes, I guess that's me. That's a pretty irrelevant political distinction, however. I'm also a blue-collar laborer in a monogamous heterosexual relationship, I have no college degree, and I live pretty close to the poorer end of the economic spectrum in a small city ( ... )

The fact is that those who throw the term around the most in the media, are themselves part of the elite. Rush Limbaugh? Anne Coulter? ... the various candidates? All of them are in the elite.

Clinton herself, no matter what she may say about where she comes from, is now a multimillionaire politician toasting with the likes of the D.C., Hollywood, and international elite. Calling Obama an elitist is the pot calling the kettle black. Or in her case ... maybe the pot is calling the kettle white. :)

The biggest trick in a political campaign is reaching out to diverse groups successfully. This is my PC way of saying, "don't make the stupid people feel stupid, or they won't vote for you." One can be smart and on top of his game without appearing Elitist. but it ain't easy. I'd love to think that Americans are well read, well informed and involved in their future, but lets face it...this country elected W twice. Now maybe if Obama could convince the country that he and he alone could save them from the impending Alien Invasion...

They say the first step to resolving your problem is admitting you have one...

(Ed) "Hello everyone, My name is Ed, and I consistently vote against my own best interests because I'm poorly informed and disenfranchised."

(Everyone) "Hi Ed!"
