-- Backlash was last night. This PPV really didn’t do much for me. Jericho/Benjamin seemed to start off slow, but it picked up by finishing strong. Jericho is getting the heel turn that he desperately needs. Tag team title stuff was rather boring for me. Edge/Benoit was some good stuff. Benoit selling the brick as if it were death was great. The Chris Masters segment blew. Viscera vs. Kane was terrible, but Viscera has been hilarious in this role. Hogan & Michaels vs. Hassan & Daivari was exactly what you expected. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Hogan represents the ex-girlfriend that you dated for 5 years. When he’s gone, then you miss him like crazy, but the second he comes back you can’t wait for him to leave. I’m not sick of him yet, so I hope he doesn’t wear out his welcome like he has a tendency to do. Also, Michaels just looks secondary standing next to Hogan. It’s hard to believe that both of these guys have been an integral part of the WWF/WWE at some point because Hogan overshadows Michaels badly. HHH/Batista was ok. I love how HHH had to hit the pedigree after the ref bump and pin Batista for what seemed like forever to prove that he should have won the title. I guess this spot only works for heels when you’re married to the boss’s daughter. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed with this PPV.
-- NWA FL makes their debut in Sanford this Friday. The show looks to be really, really good. AJ Styles vs. Roderick Strong could be all kinds of goodness. Homicide vs. Vordell Walker will be fun to watch. Steve Madison continues his feud with 911 Inc. as he teams with Mikey Tenderfoot (not sure if he’ll be wrestling due to injury) and Lex Lovett to take on the Steel(e)’s and Buck Quartermain. Check out

-- Sunray Pro Wrestling returns this Saturday to Palm Bay, FL. The show is being headlined by a 4-man Heavyweight #1 contenders match featuring Erick Stevens vs. Tommy Vandal vs. Sean Allan vs. Bad Dog James Bullock. Also on the show will be two title matches with Murphy & Machete defending against the Steel(e)’s w/Ron Niemi, and Johnny Vandal defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Chasyn Rance.
-- In boxing news, John Ruiz lost his WBA Heavyweight Championship to James Toney in a fight that was better than most expected, but it was still boring to watch. Ruiz has since retired from boxing following this loss. I guess that’s what happens when only 3 men in the history of boxing have gone from being Middleweight Champions of the world to Heavyweight Champions of the world, and you were the one that lost to two of those three.
