A Strange Quiet Time

Dec 31, 2006 04:20

Another 4:00 am post.  Up working on the CD project.  Hammered out most of the difficult bits.  Now it's just a matter of QA, updating the database, and resetting a bunch of paths.  I didn't think when I started, while assuring Michelle that I would be able to accomplish the task, that I would be able to gather all the resources I needed to make it work.  It's working.  That ROCKS.

Now to the quiet part.  So, I'm freezing in A's room, working on the coding.  Did I mention I was freezing?  FREEZING, I tell ya.  So anyway, I went into the Temple to stand in front of the furnace register and I did just that, stand, for a long time.  I turned a quarter turn every now and then to roast myself evenly, and after standing there, turning from time to time, I had this realization, it's quiet in here.  Not the kind of quiet that comes from a still house at 4:00 am.  While it was that kind of quiet, it was also something more.  It was quiet inside.  Nobody but me.  It felt empty.  But it was also very peaceful.  I really don't know what it is like with only Eileen there.  But I suppose all the little ones and the older ones are sleeping right now.  I'm very clear, while very sleeply, but it's interesting to experience me, Eileen, alone.
