You've got to be kidding....

I turn on the TV to hear there's a "big" house fire in the east mountains, more at 10. So, we wait the 10 minutes til the news comes on, hoping that "east mountains" means somewhere other than right here.

Ha ha ha...nope...Not only is the burning house in our sections of the mountains, it's a F***ing mile away! It hasn't even been a frickin' week, and we are now on fire #2, both within easy walking distance of the house.

I'm refusing to panic this time. I'm just going to sit here and pray that with all of the trucks they sent that the firefighters can keep the fire out of the trees. They did great with the wildfire, but of course, they didn't have to deal with "exploding ammo" then, which is apparently an issue at this house.

And of course, the news makes this the big story, for which there is zero followup until 5 AM Tuesday morning. Well, isn't THAT helpful. By 5 AM, we'll either be on fire, or the fire will be out. On my list of things to do is ever so politely suggest to the &^%$#@ news stations that when there's a potentially dangerous fire bruning in the greater ABQ area after 10:30 PM that perhaps a frickin' news ticker every so often might be useful to their viewership.

Neighbors wanted to do a meeting to make sure everyone has arrangements made to get their pets out in case of a fire. If this is another intentionally set fire, I think I'm going to go to the meeting and suggest armed neighborhood patrols.
