"Do you want me to take him?" Gilbert asked as he walked into the kitchen and noticed Anne holding Jem while trying to make dinner.
"Oh could you? He's being fussy and won't behave in his crib. Thank you darling," Anne said, passing the baby off to him.
"Hey, why are you giving your mommy a hard time? Do you want attention?"
Gilbert tickled the baby who began to giggle.
"Ow!" Gilbert said suddenly.
"What happened?" Anne asked, whipping around.
"Jem thought I was dinner."
"He's teething!?!" Anne asked excitedly.
"It sure feels that way."
"That's wonderful!"
She came over to where Gilbert sat in a kitchen chair.
"Jemmy baby, you're becoming a big boy. Yes you are," she cooed.
"Uh Honey. Honey. Anne."
"What?"
"The pot. . ." Gilbert motioned to where their dinner had begun to boil over.
"Oh no!" Anne said rushing over.
