Part 1/?: Scotty
"I have a confession," Scotty said one day as he and Kevin sat on a park bench watching children play.
"Oh yeah?"
"Do you remember Valentine's Day, when Michelle set us up?"
"How could I forget?"
"I know I was a jerk. But, I was glad it was you."
"Me too. I wasn't happy about being set up on a blind date. It was so much easier to be on one with someone I already knew."
"I was wondering how I'd get back with you. I thought I had screwed things up," Scotty said.
"No. It wasn't just alcohol that got me in bed that night."
"I know."
Part 2/?: Sarah
Dear Diary,
I think some people will misunderstand about my ending things with Luc. Maybe how I handled it wasn't the best, trying to force him to spread his artwork to the U.S. and getting a fan base here. But, I couldn't have a summer fling. I'm too old for those, and I have too much going on in my life. I have two little children to look out for, and I can't be bringing home men just for them to get attached and him to leave. Also, there's no way anything serious could have formed between Luc and myself. He would only be happy living in France, and I would only be happy living in California. Neither of us was willing to move, even if it meant to be together. So it was better for me to end things now, than to keep them going without them going anywhere. If you can't agree on one place to live, you can't get married. I had to grow up and not try living in a fantasy world. Now don't get me wrong, it was nice while it lasted. And I do care greatly for Luc, and I do miss him. But I'm not interested in boyfriends anymore, I need a husband and father for my children. That wasn't Luc, which was why he had to go. Yes it was hard. But it had to be done. I wish I could let everyone see how my mind was working. But I can't. So hopefully my family will be able to understand, because there the only ones who will understand. Maybe someday Luc will understand.
