let's see...it's been awhile since i've updated on what's been going on in the world of taryn.
this past weekend was seminar weekend for work, so once again we shipped off to detroit. unfortunately, i had to fly by myself this time and had to go to d.c. first before heading off to detroit. all in all, the flights weren't that bad and had little turbulence, which was fine by me! esp since i was in one of those tipped winged tiny pieces of tin they call a plane. anywho, i arrived in detroit all in one piece and ready to sleep in what the westin dubbed the most 'heavenly bed.' the seminar was inspiring, as always, but i'm feeling that they're getting to be about the same everytime i go. the message is still the same with different approaches..which is always nice, but after while, there's not much i can do with it since i'm not going to be a chiropractor. by the end, i chilled out in the lobby with brianna and dr. chuck. now, let me tell you about dr. chuck...he's probably one of the coolest people i've ever met. he's so passionate about what he does, but he's also a huge prankster and loves to tell a good joke. he's a lot of fun to be around, and i ended up getting adjusted by him. holy shit, probably one of the best adjustments of my life...seriously. brianna and i want to take a field trip out to athol just to get adjusted by him again. on another positive note, after talking with dr. chuck, brianna was hit with the chiropractic bug and is now going to be attending chiropractic college! yay for more chiropractors out there!!
sunday, i returned to the east coast. now...first, they had to de-ice our plane in detroit....doesnt' really set a sense of comfort in an already nervous taryn. then, as we're landing in boston, the pilot mentions some light snow, which is fine, but let me define 'light snow.' we coudln't see the ground until 2 seconds before we landed, and it was pretty much a blizzard outside. thank god i didn't check the weather beforehand or i would have been freaking out. anywho, we land, and i'm alive...yay! i then head on down to ct to spend some time with the scott and go have dinner over at dad's. sunday was a great day, and i got spoiled with a pancake breakfast upon my arrival at scott's :) yum!
this week has been going by relatively quickly. i had a massive migraine yesterday that forced me to leave work early...boo...but on the plus side i got a great parking spot and ended up getting 12 hours of sleep! woohoo! i came into work early today to make up the time cause i can't afford to lose that money, but hey, i'm wide awake so that's always good. i also saw a turkey avoid death when running across the road, and then clear a 7 foot fence once he got to the other side. go turkey!!
new years resolution update:
i've finished two more books, diary by chuck pahliunuk (can't spell that name to save my life) and lamb by christopher moore. both awesome books. diary was fucked up, but in a good way. lamb was also really good. i don't know the bible too well, but i still was able to be captivated by the early years of jesus (or joshua as he's referred to in this book) and be entertained. biff is awesome...enough said.
i am trying to go a full year without medication, but i did buckle yesterday. the pain was too much and i just wanted to be able to fall asleep. it's ok though, today is a new day and i'm back on the wagon
i made a resolution to try and get back into shape, and unfortunately i'm not having much luck with that since i'm at work most of the day and then driving back and forth to ct. once i'm there full time i hope to get back into an exercise groove...i desperately need it. i feel so much better when i'm healthy and in shape.
on an exciting note, i get to visit mom in florida at the end of the february! woohoo! a much needed vacation!!
