weekend update!

so, for the first time in a long time now, i stayed in boston for friday night/saturday. as much as it sucked to be there, i got a lot done. i managed to spend $90 at cvs on random toiletry stuff...still don't know how i pulled that one off...and i got to walk around on a beautiful day! it's sunny days like that that i realize why i fell in love with boston in the first place. too bad i can't have the best of both of my worlds right now.

saturday night was filled with beantown pub and one of the best concerts i've been to! i was off with my friend katie b for some dinner, and then we headed to the orpheum to see louix IIV, hot hot heat, and the editors. now, for those who have never been to the orpheum theatre, i highly recommend it...that theatre is not only gorgeous, but it has such an incredible history. it used to be a vaudeville theatre, and tchaikovsky (i'm so sorry, i know i butchered that name) debuted soem of his work there. now it's used mainly for concerts, but wow what a beautiful theatre. in addition, it's small enough where, no matter where you sit, you have a great view of the bands. neither katie nor i had heard of louis IIV, so it was interesting checking them out. they actually sounded pretty good...although they had a really short set. next up was hot hot heat whom katie loves more than anything. i had a cd or two of them, but was generally unfamiliar with their music. however, i enjoyed them thoroughly and was impressed with how great their frontman was. after hot hot heat was the editors, the main band playing. now...prior to this concert, i was a fan of the editors. i heard them on the xm radio a few years back and have always enjoyed their music. suffice it to say, after this concert, i am a HUGE FAN of them...their show, to put it simply, kicked ass. they were just powerhouses, pumping out song after song after song for over an hour. also, the lead singer's voice was INCREDIBLE! they sound awesome recorded, but live they're even better. not once did his voice waiver or sound tired...it was always rich, full, and just GREAT!plus, they sang my favorite song, munich, and also another song which i'm trying desperately to find casue ti was just amazing.
after the concert we went back to the beantown pub for a drink waiting for the T's to get less crowded. in true katie fashion, she ended up talking with these guys who bought us all a shot of jameson (which...in hindsight, i should've refused cause omg it's gross) she ended up going out to another party with them, and i went on home, ct bound for the next day.

sunday morning came and off i went to ct where we had our weekly installation of D&D and i came to the conclusion that my character is just not a social butterfly...oh well though, she's still badass!
alas, it was back to boston this morning where i was met with a complete shitstorm at work and was otherwise less than enthused about it...
i can't wait until i'm in ct permanently and no longer have my life owned by this place...one day...

i hope everyone is staying warm on this wicked cold day!
