catching up on lj!
first and foremost...

now that important business has been taken care of, i guess it's time i actually update in this thing! christmas has come and gone...hard to believe it's already over and in a week it'll be 2008. safe to say, i'm not liking this "time flying by" business. it's scary how times goes by and before you know it it's already the next year. this past year has been a whirlwind. looking back i can't believe all that's happened, all the new people that i've met, where i am now verses where i was at the start of the year....
but anywho, enough of that. christmas weekend was great. my mom was able to fly up for a few days, so that was nice to see her. now that she's in florida it gets to be a bit more complicated to visit. i want to go down there soon, but it's hard to find the time, esp since i can't really take any time off from work right now. but having the weekend was good. we did the usual baking of a bagillion cookies friday and saturday. i had a little christmas celebration with skywalker_child and mistresfuzytail and for those who've seen the my little pony video, you can only imagine how much fun that was. i got a lite brite and the full season of clone high! wOOt!
sunday i went out to lunch with my mom and a few of her friends, and did up some christmas shopping at hte mall. afterwards i was able to see some old school friends and catch up with them for a bit. mom left christmas eve morning, so after she jetted off i finished up my shopping and packed up the cat to head on over to scott's. i got ares all settled in at scott's place, and attempted the meet n' greet of ares and the ferrets. no blood was shed, which was a relief!
at 5 i went and got scott from work and we headed on over to his grandma's house for a family christmas party. it wasn't as bad as they had all made it out to be. i bonded with jenna (who's like..5) and had hte pleasure of spinning her around for an hour or so. afterwards we headed on back to the apt. and watched gremlins and little shop of horros. very christmassy.
christmas came and went off to his parents house to do up breakfast and open presents. it was great to finally see everyone open their gifts. scott liked picture i did for him which was a relief, i wasn't sure how he'd like it. AND he got me a freakin telescope!!! we're gonna break it out next weekend probably and watch mars get hit with an astroid...groovy times :D after that we headed on over ot my dad's where food was, of course, abundant. we hung out there for a few hours, and hten went back to his parents where i had to endure the vision of him and his brother scarfing down crab legs...gross..
christmas was wrapped up by going to see sweeney todd. (karen, i'm so down for seeing it again this weekend if you want...but warning...it's bloody!)
alas, this morning it was back to work for both of us..but that's ok, it's another long weekend coming up! huzzah!
