weekend update

i feel like this weekend lasted forever...probably because i was in connecticut for the majority of the week leading into the weekend....so technically i feel like my weekend started thursday. i planned on coming into the ct and visiting scott at work until he got off, and on the drive over i received a wondrous call from him saying that they let him go early and he was already home. woot for not having to spend hours at smith keon!! we went out to dinner with his family to ruby tuesdays, and as always, it was a good time. afterwards we came back and watched young frankenstein...one of many movies on my list to see, and i must say, i was thoroughly amused. everyone has always referenced the jokes, so it wasn't as funny as it would've been had i known nothing about it going into it, but i still thought it was hilarious, and the movie has deepened my childhood crush on gene wilder.
friday was great because i worked the afternoon shift so that meant i got to sleep in!! now, to other people, sleeping in might mean until 11 or 12, for me it meant 8:30...it was a beautiful thing. while at work, i coordinated with greg, karen and scott to see beowulf that night in mansfield. like karen, i'm still not sure how i feel about it. it was definetly entertaining, and if you're goign to take down grendel, you might as well do it naked (cue drooling from karen and me.) however, i think i would've rathered seen it as real life instead of animation. something about the cartoon nature of it turned me off. overall, it was a good movie, and coupled with greg's leapord print pimp shirt and chain it was a grand evening!
cut to saturday where i joined with the karen and the kaylee and the erika for karen's ladies night in. first we sped off to manchester to pick up the kaylee and bug the ed at work (which whoa...short hair...not used to!) after being called a dirty hippie and hearing the ghetto girl and trucker voice that i have come to love and cherish, we were off back to east hampton where we proceeded to have amazing food and playing girly games (i'm talking dreamstar, which, if you haven't played, you HAVE to and girly jenga.)overall it was good times and it felt good to hang out with good friends!
cut to sunday where i bummed around with scott at his parent's house where we feasted on tacos and ice cream cake for sam's bday. goooood times.

overall, it was a great weekend. hard to believe thanksgiving is this week! i can't wait for the annual friend's thanksgiving dinner on wednesday and poker night at justin's on friday. wOOt!!
