politics

i'm so angry and political lately. People who look at my facebook would think all I do is yell at conservatives and rail on and on. But it's easier to let go in writing. If I was just talking to someone I might hold back more. Well, maybe not. I went crazy at barns and nobles with aubrey. I felt self concious afterwards but the guy was sitting there saying, "well UT isn't expensive at all." and i flipped out, I was like, "are you kidding me! yes it is expensive. It's like 10,000 dollars a semester!" and both the kids are sitting there looking at me like i'm crazy. It's like, whoa reel it in Tara

I don't know, I'm just angry lately. It probably all started when I watched Bill on fox. I know I shouldn't, he's just going to make me mad, and its not like I can call him up and have a discussion. His thought was, "if you work hard, and an anvil falls on your hand, i'll help you to go to the hospital, but if you don't work hard, I don't want to give you any money!" Well more power to you, abosolutely. But I just can't stand the idea from conservatives that, "If you work hard, you can do anything!" Like that speech that congressman gave after obama gave his address. That's great, and yes, we have more opportunities in this country, but please, grow up. That's why they always describe liberals as grey, and conservatives as black and white. If your successful you worked hard, if your not you didn't, end of story. No, it isn't bill, and hannity, and coulter.

AIG gave massive bonuses to people who dragged the company under.

My mom, who saves lives, and consistently shows up to work on time and works twelve hour shifts, is not getting her raise this year. Too bad, her company says, we just aren't doing it this year.

What was that about hard work?

Hannity's always saying how this is the greatest country in the world. Like it's just a given. We're great, end of story. Sure we have glaring inequality, and a messed up healthcare system, but that doesn't matter, we're still the greatest!  No. There is something wrong with this country that there is such a gap in wealth. It's not right! How can we call ourselves the greatest country ever when people can't even afford to go to the doctor?
We don't want socialism. Getting what we deserve is not socialism. All we want is a little piece of the goddamned pie. And we deserve it, we do. We work hard, even if conservatives are convinced that we must not. That's the problem. They give people a crumb and think we've taken the whole fucking pie.
love,
Tara
