We took Harry and Beth bowling today. Obviously Beth didn't actually bowl but just got passed between me and D when we weren't. We did try leaving her in the buggy but she didn't like that idea!
I lost dramatically. But I do stick by my argument that Harry was not only using the guide thing to roll his ball, but he had the bumpers up in the gutters!
I also blame it on the accident I had. I was picking up a ball when the one that D had just bowled (a heavy one) came up out of the machine and rolled towards the one I was picking up and hit it. Or to be more precise, it hit my finger which was inbetween them. Ouch! I now have a purple and red finger, and it hurts :(
Afterwards we went to find somewhere to have lunch. Harry decided that he only wanted to eat pizza and as he was getting grumpy we decided that having a happy Harry was the priority. We tried Frankie and Benny's but there was a 15-20 minute wait for a table. They had empty tables there but they said that they couldn't put a high chair on the end of any of them! The other option in Xscape which did pizza was Ask but as D doesn't like pizza or pasta they were no gos.
In the end we ended up getting back in the car and driving down to the other end of the city centre and going to Chiquitos. We had eaten there when we had met up with
americantjej in London and Harry had had a pizza so we knew that we would be okay. It was pretty dead down there - to be expected when it is a long way from anything else that was open. Harry had pizza, D had a steak, and I had paella. I bought the new WW Eating Out Guide at the weekend and it is updated with LOTS of new restaurants, Chiquitos being one of them. That meant I was sorted :) For Beth we asked for a piece of bread and they gave us some sundried tomato ciabatta bread. She loved it. My 7 month old is so cosmopolitan! I also think she swallowed a fair bit - have to wait for it to come out the other end to see!
Actually managed to get a photo of Harry eating his pizza before he realised what I was doing! As you can see, it was one hell of a pizza considering it came from the kids menu!
