We had a lovely afternoon today :)
A friend, Debbie, I met through the OU online conferencing system invited us all round for tea. She has a boy, Henry, who is 9 months older than Harry. We get together when we can, but she lives about 30 miles away so it isn't as often as I'd like.
D has never met them (at least he doesn't think he has met her, he definately hadn't met her husband before). Henry and Harry played wonderfully together, after a bit of a slow start as Harry was very shy. In the end Harry cried because he didn't want to leave, and Henry cried because he didn't want Harry to go!
Beth behaved herself wonderfully, smiling, giggling, and munching on an egg sandwich. Having said that her spectacular exploding poo wasn't what you'd want in company, and it took both D and I and a change of clothes to sort out!
Debbie is lovely, and is still trying to persuade us to buy a house that is for sale opposite them. It would be lovely as they live in a lovely quiet road where all the kids play outside, and I'd have a good friend right on my doorstep. Not going to happen though :(
And this evening has been lovely too. Snuggling on the sofa watching Robin Hood, Any Dream Will Do: the winner's story, and Vicar of Dibley.
One of the best days I've had in a long time (even the fact that I'd put on 1lb at weight watchers this morning - but it was Christmas - didn't ruin it) :)
good things,
family
