Well we seem to have landed with the only dry sunny day in 2 weeks for Father's Day :)
We're having a big BBQ this afternoon with both sets of parents and siblings (all except my sister who is working in Cyprus) - saves us having to visit both my dad and D's dad. Sneaky, eh?
D's just nipped out to Tesco to get some hot dog rolls as they didn't have any yesterday. Harry is finishing his breakfast and Beth is asleep. And I'm just posting here quickly whilst waiting for the bathroom cleaner to blitz the downstairs cloakroom! When D gets home I'm off to the hospital briefly where they have a drop-in baby clinic on Sat and Sun as I need some advice on breastfeeding. I think Beth is latching on properly but she keeps slipping, no matter how I hold her, and she ends up sucking on the nipple and not the breast. I try telling her that it is breastfeeding and not nipple feeding but she doesn't listen. It hurts :(
Harry and Beth got D a learn German course on CD for Father's Day. He's got to go to Germany next month as part of his new job and he is going to have responsibility for the German office accounts so he figured he will be dealing with them a lot. Yes, they will speak English but it's nice if you can speak some German to them. Unfortunately he never did German at school (I did a bit) so he knows absolutely nothing. We got him the Michael Thomas course of 8 CDs. I have the French one and they are fantastic. No writing or anything, just listening to the CDs. They really teach you to think in the language rather than think in English and translate in your mind. Normally it's £70 for the course, but Costco had it for just over £20! Apparently they have the follow on French course so I'll probably get that for me.
Right, must go and finish cleaning the downstairs cloakroom. Booooo! :(
