The last twenty minutes of class were always the worst. Because that is when I stopped thinking about the lesson and started thinking about her, and If I was going to make it outside of her class in time to see her that day. Although today was especially nervewracking, because I was actually going to talk to her today. At least that was the plan. Tara and I had slowly started talking to one another again, and I thought today would be a good day to.... my pencil, which I had been tapping against the side of my desk, flew out of my hands and hit Brian next to me. My hands flew up to my face. "Oh god. I'm so sorry!" I whispered to him while I picked up the fallen writing utensil.
"Hey, it's no problem," he said smiling at me, and wiping the pencil smudge off his cheek. He grinned charmingly and gave me a look. I had put the pencil away in my bag before I realized what that look meant. Oh god. My eyes widened a bit in shock and I stared straight ahead for the rest of the class. When the professor dismissed us, I bolted from the room before Brian had the change to say anything to me.
Tara was in Art history, and so I hung around pretending to look for something in my backpack while I waited for her to emerge. When I was just about to give up, she walked out. Her head was cocked to the side, like it did when she was thinking about something, and she hugged her books to her chest. Lucky books. I quickly zipped up my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. Biting my lip I slowly made my way over to her.
I waved a little timidly when she noticed me.
"Hey." I said quietly.
