http://www.wowio.com is a website that lets you download eBooks from their library for free. They are in Adobe Acrobat format, so you don’t need any special software to read them. There are some great non-fiction, fiction and graphic novels here!

Quite a few people from some of the GPT sites I frequent have already received their shiny ipods and the books you can access are pretty darn good.
I've got the book that Dr. Strangelove was based on open right now. There's two pages of advertisement at the begining of the book, basically a logo and some text, nothing too obnoxious, and then you get right into the book.
