Going to the spin-in and fiber fair thingy in Coeur D'Alene with Joey
+ eating Greek food while the rain fell on the lake
+ seriously amazing massage
+ checking out Mount St. Michael's where the nuns live
= one of the most lovely days.
I picked up some gorgeous yellow and orange hand-spun wool/mohair for super frickin cheap, some dusty green roving that I've done some work with already, and some super lush merino roving that I'm a little frightened to spin because it deserves more skill than I've got at the moment.
I really think I might buy this
wheel because that drop spindle takes forever to make progress with the back and forth between spinning and winding.
I finished a pair of wrist warmers out of this really lovely, stripey, hand-spun mohair that I picked up in Dec. Pics will have to wait since Krista has them out at her staff retreat. I've also got a few more rows left on another pair or wrist warmers that I knit out of recycled sari silk for
chung163. They are so funky colored! I love how nice and thick the sari silk knit up on the needles I used. I might have to knit up a pair in the same kind of yarn for me.
I'm trying to remember where I put the patterned square I was working on. It's just a few rows from being done also and I want to throw some other yarn on the needles it's on and attempt double knitting . We caught a demo of it at the spin-in and I think I can do it once I figure out the different cast on that it needs. Reversible colorwork = awesome!
