So many things and nothing's changed

Well, my husband came up for easter. We only had about a day and a half together, which was worth it. We went to the Tulip Festival near here. It was pretty.

And that pretty much is the end of the happy portion of this post. As Lemony Snickett would say, this is the point where you should go read a story about a happy gnome.

The details of my life haven't gotten much better. The job posting my husband applied for expire, so he went from being almost hired to not even considered. And now, congress is dragging their heels on the budget which they have until the 28th of April to figure out or the government will get shut down (e.i. I get no pay check, but I have to go to work). This entire thing is making sense to no one. My institution is down by at least 10 officers, people are getting mandated every day because posts can't be covered. Yet they still can't transfer an existing employee from one point to another. Its frustrating.

I ended up taking a personal loan out of my retirement account to pay off my credit cards. I don't know if this was a good idea, and I don't know how it will affect getting a car in 6 months. No frickin'  clue. It will however free up about 200$ a month, which doesn't sound like a lot, but at this point it is. I haven't gotten the check yet. So I still need to save for my car, I just need another grand. My selection will be limited to anything used and under 15 grand, but I need a car with a heater. My fingers keep going numb and tingling by the time I get home. There's a carmax in Portland or near portland, so at least I won't have to risk craig's list.

I think i'm going to try to grow flowers on my balcony. Its east facing, which is a challenge and I'm going to try lemon balm first. Its supposedly easy, good for anti anxiety tea and repels mosquitoes. I think they have those.
