For reasons of being half asleep I have set my alarm for 5:30 instead of 5am recently. This has, in turn, meant that Willow doesn't get walked until 6am. All well and good, except it is actually quite light outside at that time. And therein lies the trouble [1]
See...there are certain rituals that Willow enjoys [2] and that I have to do to keep her happy [3]
The first is the Sumo Dance. This is where Willow will snort, then drop her front legs so her chest and head are on the ground, while her bum is still standing, if you see what I mean. This leads to the next part of the ritual. I go into the Sumo stance, legs apart, arms like I'm carrying a roll of carpet under each...whilst making an *om* noise.
This leads into ritual two, wherein I let out a *FssssssHAH!* noise, and run at Willow, who in turn leaps up and runs around in little circles, coming close but not actually up to me, for about 10 seconds, then she runs in and jumps up, so I have her front paws in m hand. Which leads to ritual number 3.
We dance round in two full circles. No more, no less, while I sing the Washing machine song. What? You don't know the Washing Machine song? It goes like this *Clears throat*
"Oh...........Der wassin' massine, der wassin' massine, what sall we doo wid der wassin' massine?"
This is sung until we have danced in two full circles, at which time I let her go, and she sits, whilst I sing *Boop boop de doop*
Nothing unusual there, I'm sure you'll admit.
So, I was quite disturbed this morning[4] to see, when I finished, a man, woman and two children, all in their PJs, stood on their balcony, watching. And applauding when I finished. The man called out that he'd seen me do this over the past week, and his family didn't believe him, so he'd woken them up especially this morning to watch. And which home did I come from?
I think he's a bit weird, don't you?
[1] No, I'm not the trouble. Other people are the trouble. You keep your comments to yourself!
[2] Yes, Willow enjoys them. Me, I do it or The dog...
[3] Alright, maybe it does make me happy too..but only because she's happy. Honest. She isn't doing it for my sake[5]
[4]What do you mean *not just this morning!*?
[5] Is she?
