Chivalry is Dead and Buried Six Feet Deep

So I'm watching Starsky and Hutch and I just wanted to Scream at the scene where they are leaving the bull-pen and Starsky 'swats' a female officer (in uniform) on the ass. I'm not sure if it was with some papers or his bare hand. I realise that this show was made in a time where that was practically S.O.P. it's just not right, and it didn't sit right with me. There've been several other times where their attitude toward women was just to the left of center and it pissed me off. I really want to enjoy this show; but when they pull stunts like that I can't. I'm not going to go on about it (because I'm not word-y enough), I've never been one to 'rant'. I just can't let this go without saying something. Aside from that (which really is a big-ish deal to me) I'm absolutely loving everything about the show.

Please reassure me that I'm not alone in thinking this way.
