The emotion sits in the pit of his stomach, uncomfortable; like the candy bar Joey McNamara made him steal and eat so that he’d be ‘in’. He knows logically that he should just ‘let it go’, but he’s never felt hate this strong before. He doesn’t like how it makes his stomach curl and clench. So he lashes out; and his fist comes into contact with warm flesh. Jim; had caught his hand before it would have collided with the wall, causing more damage to skin then to brick. His hate grows stronger when he opens his eyes and looks at the scene in front of him again. The victim was so small and frail, with no obvious signs of trauma. That was the worst part, Blair could have handled blood, or gore. It was the fact that the child was laying there looking peacefully asleep while his mother confessed to feeding him rat poison that had caused the pure hate to well up. Jim ushered him out of the room and out of the house, and neither spoke till they got back to Prospect Ave. after Blair had gone 10 rounds with the heavy bag that Jim set up in Blair’s old room. After the cold empty feeling is replaced. Hate has no place in their bed, and Jim takes his time reminding Blair of that.
