I pick number two. Beautiful. I have to say, though, maybe I'm old fashioned but I have never understood the whole brides looking like they are wearing prom dresses. I want a bridal gown to have sleeves.
That's one thing I liked about Kate Middleton's gown. The sleeves. I will admit that my wedding dress was technically a prom dress. I got it at Dillard's, in the off-prom season, and there was a rip in the bottom (that we hemmed out). It cost me $55. And I'm darn proud of it. I just don't see the point in spending hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on a dress that you are going to wear once, for a few hours.
My mom still has me 'beat' though. Her dress was bought at Montgomery Wards (I think) for $35. this was back in the early '70's though. And I think it had full length, lace sleeves.
Great job, both of you! My daughter just had her senior prom--got her beautiful dress at Goodwill, for 8 dollars! Mine, back in the '70s was twice that much, $19 from a second hand store.
Totally agree with you, people spend way too much on weddings and proms when there are wonderful finds in second hand and discount stores.
