This gives nothing of the plot of the episode away and I want Silme to know, so I'm putting it outside the cut:
Eliot COOKS!!! (or at least chops veggies and appears to be making some sort of meal for the team)!!! Including a white chef's apron and Everything. NOM NOM NOM!!!!!
So on Leverage tonight the main guest star was Beth Broderick who was in the SPN episode 'Nightmare'. That officially makes 3 connections between Leverage and SPN Aldis Hodge, Christian Kane, and now Beth.
Another interesting crossover type thing. Right at the end of the episode Parker was trying to get to the bottom of several 'conspiracies' (Moon landing, Lock Ness Monster, Area 51) When she mentioned Area 51 Eliot immediately agreed and Alec was all 'she said Area 51...' and Eliot was all 'Lie, it's Area 52.' And Alec says (with a rather salacious tone) 'I've been there.'
What's so interesting about this you may ask: The show Stargate: SG-1 has a fan-run fiction site called 'Area52hkh.net' this site features fiction of the slash variety. Thus cementing (in my mind at least) the 'story' of Alec's geekiness, and from 'The 12-step Job' where he had to 'play gay' to get in to see Nate after Eliot said he was Nate's brother. What killed me even more was Eliot's quick and hardy agreement that 'Area 52' is in fact as 'interesting' as Alec's tone suggested.
In conclusion: Alec and Eliot totally 'ship Jack/Daniel and Sheppard/McKay.
Enough of my random conspiracies on to my review of the episode:
I HATE Nancy Grace with the fire of a thousand burning nuns. So any shows that call her on the carpet for her sensationalism are alright by me (L&O: SVU has a character called 'Faith Yancy' that's based on NG). So for me this was an Amazing episode. Also, Sophie taking over Nate's role and Eliot taking Alec's were Brilliant. I love how Alec was all 'Just do it like I taught you.' trying to talk Eliot through researching the Lt. that was holding him. So that tells me that they are all trying to learn a little something from each other. Which is what any good cohesive team should do. Also Eliot cooked, and looked really FUCKING GOOD in a suit!!! I loved how they all really worked together when it looked like the con was going to shit. They fixed it in the end and managed to help clear the guy's name. Way to go Team!!!!!
