This whole post is rather long and rambly. I swear there is a point to it, but it deals with Emo music and BattleStar Galactica. So feel free to skip it if you want.
So I was listening to the radio the other day and 'Shadow of the Day' by Linkin Park came on. I didn't pay it any mind then, but now... Now is a whole different story.
I got to thinking about the song in the context of its lyrics. They are sad and gorgeous. A cry for peace, and the frank knowledge that 'the sun will set for you.' It's an absolutely maudlin song, but I love it.
Then I got to thinking about what show/characters this song fits. I was honestly surprised. As my first inclination was to try to make it fit Supernatural. But somehow it's bigger than that. So what other show does it fit? Well, lets see; shall we... A myriad of contradictions: sad, beautiful, dark, at peace, frank, and completely unsure of itself. The only thing that made sense to me at this point was: Battlestar Galactica.
Of course at that point it all kind of clicked and I realised that this song (in my mind) only fits two characters from that show. Maybe you'll agree with me, maybe you won't.
Lt. Anastasia 'Dee' Dualla and Lt. Felix Gaeta.
I close both locks below the window.

I would love to be able to do a video, but I lack the programs and DVD's necessary to get a hold of the scenes/clips I would need. So what I'm doing is a 'lyrical poster series' wherein I'll take relevant (in my mind) screencaps of both characters and add the lyrics in a 'poster' format. What I need from you guys: a site where I can get a hold of excellent (HD if possible) quality screencaps, the name of the episode where Gaeta loses his leg, the name of the episode where 'Dee' shoots herself (I can't remember where in the scheme of the end of S4 she does it, and the TWoP recaps aren't being very helpful).
