New news...

So I've officially been hired over at Frild to Fork, Il Ritrovo, and Duke of Devon...Three independently-owned Italian eateries/Organic markets. I decided I needed to get out of Z-Spot's fulltime pull. I love it here, but I'm working with 17-year-olds, and frankly, I need something more stimulating. I don't like professional changes, but if I don't push myself out of my comfort zone, I'll be here for the rest of my life...and waitressing, my friends, is about as far out of Lea's comfort zone as it gets.

So far it's fun--everyone is intelligent, artistic, and quick-witted. There are plenty of gay boys and vegans for me to mesh with. Plus, I get a %25 discount on all organic produce and market items, making being vegan even cheaper than buying typical, not-prganic food. Woot woot! I do forsee eventual problems with scheduling and consistency of hours, but for now, it's fun supplemental income I can live with.

In music news, I'm recording a few demos tommorrow...at my last show, the lead singer of a rockabilly band called The Jetty Boys approached me and told me he loved my stuff and would like to work with me. He's a neat little guy--his black, slicked-back hair, coke-bottle glasses and wardrobe are an interesting marriage of 50s and 80s style...and he's quirky as shit. We talked some things over and he's going to record a few live tracks for me to stick on myspace and maybe make a few demo disks to pass out at shows. It should be a fun time, and if nothing else, I'm starting to really connect and network with other local musicians. That alone is totally worth the time spent.

Not much else new...Crystal moved out, and I'm reeeeeaaaaaally enjoying the space to myself, which I didn't think I would. There's just something awesome about being able to play guitar naked in the livingroom.

Not that I've ever done that, of course.
