One should never grocery-shop with a hangover.

"What is THIS?" I asked, eyeing a large glass of red, fruity-smelling something sitting, with five others, at the edge of the bar. Four large men grabbed one and one was handed to me.
"Just try it," Eric said devilishly. "It's a game. We all race. Last one to finish buys the next round."
"WHAT?!"
"Come on!! I haven't seen you really drunk in a loooong time! You're so fun when you're hammered!"
"Oh, fine."

That's how the night begun. It was all downhill from there.

Well, I'm poor, so I won that game. And the next. The four guys, all with about 50-100 pounds on me, high-fived me and laughed in drunken awe, which made me feel all special...And I felt pretty special for the rest of the night--a princess of sorts with a chariot of football-player-sized chariotmen--as these four gentlemen (whom I know and trust quite well, or I wouldn't have been drinking so heavily) practically carried me to the next bar, and then to the house party down the street, where I found masking tape and had a grand time attempting to tape things like firewood, lawn ornaments, and people, to the house.

The next morning I woke up and sat up and laid right back down again. I was still drunk...good goddess...thank goodness I didn't have to work!
I needed sleep...and fruit...yeah, fruit and nutrients and water...my mouth practically overflowed with watery anticipation.

Crystal took me to Walmart...and somehow, in a blur or headachey, hungover hunger, I managed to blow my entire three-week's grocery budget three melons, a pineapple, five peaches, five apples, two bunches of bananas, two cartons each of strawberries and blueberries, three mangoes, two pears, two bunches of red and green grapes, a sack of oranges, a crapload of dried dates, figs, and raisins, and something that looks like a cross between a mango, a papaya and a porcupine.
For the next week, or more, I'm pretty sure I will be stuck consuming nothing but fruit.

Lesson, case in point:
Don't drink and shop.
