Answers needed

Does anyone know if there is a trick to opening jars of foie gras d'oie entier? It seems to be vacuum sealed. While I can try and apply a bit more brute force, I really don't want to break the clasp.

I have a feeling the answer might be to boil it, but am not sure for how long. Foie gras isn't cheap and I don't want to ruin it.
