Finally finished.
Still processing but a couple of points:
1. Simple way to keep Snarry alive, Harry plugs the holes in Snape's neck until Hermione can cast a healing spell. They have to leave him there, of course, but at least Harry saves him.
2. He named his son after Severus. Why he would name him Albus as well is confusing, but at least he realized, a bit too late, how wonderful Severus was.
3. Hermione and her skepticism about killed me. What is wrong with her!? And why can she never admit when she's wrong. She never said it in HBP when she found out it was Snape and she never said it here. She really needs to be slapped about the head.
4. And Ron just decided to come back? Um, why?
5. How incredibly dense are these children. They fall into one trap after another and just sit around and drink tea until the Death Eaters show up.
6. Why, oh why, did Harry lose everything. Hedwig, his firebolt, his wand (and how did he fix it? Honestly. Ollivander said it couldn't be fixed. But he could repair it with the super powerful wand? What?)
7. Remus' death left much to be desired. But I wasn't sorry to see Tonks go.
8. The Epilogue really sucks. And that's all I have to say about that.
9. I wanted to kill Molly. But then she goes after Bellatrix and becomes my hero.
10. Could have seen more McGonagall.
11. Evil Dumbledore. I can see it. I never saw the friendship coming, but it all makes sense. That was neatly tied up. The best part of the whole book. Dumbledore/Grindewald ahoy!
12. Loved Harry's use of the stone and seeing his parents, Sirius and Remus. Cried like a little girl at that point.
13. Was quite surprised that Hagrid lived. I thought for certain that the Acromantulas killed him. Harry lost everything else. Can't believe Hagrid survived.
14. Need to see more of Teddy Lupin. What's his story? Did Harry really raise him? That could have been included in a much better Epilogue.
15. I knew, as soon as I saw it, that the Doe was from Severus. I knew it. Well done. And I knew he had switched the swords. I knew he was a hero!
16. Neville. Oh, I love Neville so much.
17. Draco. What happened there? Harry saved him (well done, Harry!) but then he just gets a receding hairline? What?
18. Scorpius. Love it. Another sneering little Malfoy.
19. More, much more, but I have no idea how to say it. Possibly the best book (if you stop reading before the epilogue.) The epilogue ruins the whole thing. It's half-hearted at best and seems like a simple attempt to keep the slashers from runing amok. But still, it's oh so easy to see the Draco/Harry slash in the one nod at the station.
