Oct 16, 2006 11:18

Hi all--I work for a book publisher called BenBella Books, and I wanted to pop by and let you guys know about a book we've got coming out on CSI called Investigating CSI: An Unauthorized Look Inside the Crime Labs of Las Vegas, Miami, and New York. It’s edited by Donn Cortez, and is an anthology of essays that covers all three shows in an informative and insightful way.

From the official press release:

Investigating CSI: An Unauthorized Look Inside the Crime Labs of Las Vegas, Miami, and New York
Edited by Donn Cortez

CSI’s team of forensic investigators are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the irrefutable evidence, and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery. Does a missing bullet imply a murder? Can a strand of hair find a killer? Are a few fiber strands enough for a death-row pardon? CSI and its spin-offs, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York, answer these questions for their viewers each week, providing a backstage pass to the real-life laboratories of Crime Scene Investigators.

Now, readers can enter the world of CSI where DNA testing, evidence analysis, crime-scene photography, and autopsy procedure are all in a day’s work. Be a part of the investigation with Investigating CSI.

Examing the most successful and popular forensic drama series on television today, Investigating CSI journeys through Las Vegas, Miami, and New York to collect evidence, expose truth, and bring the guilty to justice. Investigating CSI takes a close look at CSI’s impact on both law enforcement agencies and the public alike.

Investigations and Contributors Include:

  • Matthew Woodring Stover tells us why CSI is the most important show on television

  • Real-life Las Vegas CSI Rick Workman talks about sharing crime-scene stories with Anthony Zuiker and explores why professional CSIs love to hate the “CSI Effect”

  • Are the brilliant sociopaths of the world taking hints from CSI? Kristine Kathryn Rusch ponders the likelihood of educating criminals through TV

  • Adam Roberts identifies each CSI victim’s real cause of death: us

  • Miami CSI Detective Christine Feldstein exposes the dirty details of detective work, from toilets to Tyvek, that CSI leaves out

  • What’s next for CSI? Elyse Dickenson reveals episode summaries for CSI, CSI: Miami, and CSI: New York through spring 2006

You can preview a few of the essays and order on our site: Investigating CSI on smartpopbooks.com . . .

. . . or from Amazon, of course, but we have books in office now, and it’ll take a few weeks for Amazon to register their availability: Investigating CSI on Amazon

Thanks for letting me intrude! :)
